Lisa Attends NSAI Event on Capitol Hill
Lisa and Colleague Kevin Hill were invited to attend an event held in
Washington, DC by the Nashville Songwriters Association International
(NSAI)(www.nashvillesongwriters.com). During the day, songwriters from Nashville and Los Angeles
gathered in front of members of Congress to stress the importance of
strengthening legislation that protects intellectual property rights.
That evening, these songwriters performed some of their hit songs and
talked one-on-one with attendees. Lisa had the opportunity to
personally meet a number of the country's top songwriters, including
Jeffrey Steele ("What Hurts the Most", "My Wish"), Dan Navarro ("We
Belong"), Bobby Tomberlin ("One More Day"), and Danny Wells ("These Days").
Lonely World Selected For International Campaign
Lisa's pop piano tune "Lonely World" was selected by United
Entertainment & Media (www.uemlimited.com) for placement in major retail stores across the
United Kingdom and Europe. Each month, the song will be played on in
store channels, exposing the song to thousands of customers.
Lisa Chosen by Rockin' Moms
Lisa was recently selected to be a featured artist with Rockin' Moms (www.rockinmoms.com), a
project dedicated to promoting, inspiring, acknowledging, and
celebrating the works and passions of moms who are songwriters and
musicians. The organization will be interviewing Lisa for their
podcast, as well. More details to come!
Lisa Signs with MangoReel Music
Twelve of Lisa's Pop and Adult Contemporary tracks were selected by MangoReel, a music consultancy company based in the UK, for licensing with TV, film, video games, and other media. You can view Lisa's page on the MangoReel site here:
Three New Songs Released!
Three new songs were recently completed and released: "GPS" and "Welcome to Brand New" are being pitched to the Disney market for a young artist, and "Lonely World" is being pitched to TV and film. Check them out at here!
Nashville, Here We Come!

Lisa To Sing BGVs for Country Songwriters

Lisa is busy at the studio working on three new songs. "Better for the Worst" is a soulful pop tune; "You Can't Break Me" is an inspiring pop/rock tune; and "Brighter Today" is a charity-focused power ballad.

Lisa Attends Film Premiere
Along with Producer Kevin Hill, Lisa attended the premiere of the film Please God Someone Normal, which features one of Lisa's songs, "You Got it Now." The screening was held in Arlington, Virginia at the Arlington Cinema and Draft House.

Lisa Interviewed for TV Program
Lisa was invited to appear on CineMaryland, a half hour program that focuses on the Maryland film/television industry. Lisa was interviewed about her songwriting, as well as her role as the creative director of Studio Unknown, the audio post facility/recording studio she works for. The segment, which will air in February, also features Lisa's producers Kevin Hill (the owner of Studio Unknown) and Stephen Joseph, along with two filmmakers that the studio is working with. Lisa Meets Hit Songwriter/Fallborn Lead
Singer Adam Watts
Grateful, ecstatic, and downright giddy. These aptly describe Lisa when she had the opportunity to meet Adam Watts, the insanely talented songwriter, singer, and producer whom she has long considered a great inspiration. Lisa and Producer Kevin Hill Land Monthly Column in Major Music Publication!
Lisa's Producer and the Owner of Studio Unknown, an audio post facility and recording studio at which Lisa serves as creative director, recently landed a sweet gig with Mix Magazine: a regularly featured column that will spotlight small studios around the country that are making a big impact on the industry. The first piece, "The Hidden Value of Interns" is the featured article on Mix Online (www.mixonline.com). The article features interviews with major players in the music industry, including the owner of Parlor Productions, a Grammy-award winning studio in Nashville that has recorded such artists as Rascal Flatts, Michael McDonald, and Lee Ann Womack; the operations manager of Indianapolis' The Lodge Recording Studio, which hosts both publishing clients and national touring acts like Alanis Morissette, Pink, and Shaggy; and Boston and NYC's Cybersound, where such acts as the Jonas Brothers, New Kids on the Block, and Robin Thicke have recorded. Lisa Attends 2009 TAXI Road Rally in LA
Lisa flew out to LA with Producer Kevin Hill and Songwriter Seth Hurwitz to attend the 2009 TAXI Road Rally. The event assembles an impressive collection of music industry insiders including A&R representatives, producers, and accomplished songwriters and gives attendees the opportunity to tap into their expertise through panel discussions and workshops. In addition to meeting such music elite as Songwriter and Singer Adam Watts, Top Nashville Songplugger Sherrill Blackman, Hit Country Songwriter Danny Wells, Sr. Director, A&R/Producer of Universal South Records Cliff Audretch III, VP of ASCAP Nashville Ralph Murphy, Executive Producer and Creative Director of Studio 51 (Oprah Winfrey Show) Dave Trotter, and others, Lisa's music received high praise.
"Child of God" Selected for Radio Airtime on Nashville Broadcasting Radio Network
The upbeat CCM tune, "Child of God," produced by Stephen Joseph and Kevin Hill, was selected by radio executives for airplay on the Nashville Broadcasting Radio Network. Lisa received a direct call from Station Director and Host Cliff Ayers letting her know that the song was being played on his radio program, "World Wide Record Row Review," on Saturday afternoons and was receiving praise from listeners around the world. Lisa Invited to Press Dinner with Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame 2010 Nominee Darlene Love
As a result of Lisa's connections to the film/music/tv industry via her freelance writing, Lisa was invited to attend a private press dinner in Baltimore, MD announcing the acquisition of the film rights to
My Name is Love: The Darlene Love Story by REEL Good Productions. Hand-picked by music legend Phil Spector, Darlene has enjoyed a successful career in the music and film industries that has lasted nearly five decades. She has sung backing vocals for such artists as Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Cher, Dionne Warwick, and Aretha Franklin. Just a few of the hits on which Darlene's voice can be heard include "Johnny Angel," "Baby I Need Your Loving," "The Tracks of My Tears," and "Da Doo Ron Ron." Several of her songs can be heard in motion picture soundtracks, including "All Alone on Christmas," which was featured in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Darlene's acting credits include a role as Danny Glover’s wife in the four Lethal Weapon movies, as well as roles on Broadway in Grease and Hairspray. In October, she will perform with Bruce Springsteen at the 25th Anniversary of the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame event.

Lisa Meets Acclaimed Singer/
Songwriter Tom Russell
Thanks to Filmmaker Eric Temple (canyonproductions.com), Lisa had the opportunity to meet Singer/Songwriter Tom Russell (www.tomrussell.com) and Guitarist/Singer Thad Beckman (www.thadbeckman.com), fresh off of their appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Russell's songs have been covered by such greats as Johnny Cash, Nancy Griffin, Ian Tyson, KD Lang, and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, among others, and have been featured in film and television. His newly released CD, "Blood and Candle Smoke," a collection of witty, deep, and lyrically-genius observations, is earning rave reviews among critics and fans. Thad Beckman has shared the stage with such artists as B.B. King, Albert Collins, James Cotton, The Band, and Emmylou Harris. The two are currently on a nationwide tour.
"You Got it Now" Gets It!
...placement in an indie film, that is. Lisa's pop/rock song "You Got it Now" was selected for the indie film, Please God Someone Normal, a romantic comedy about a girl who goes on a series of dates with a collection of weird and crazy guys, only to finally find her true love. The film is set for release in late 2009.

Music industry insiders choose "Can't Stand You"
Lisa's edgy pop song "Can't Stand You" was selected by music industry reviewers for possible use by Thrive Records, an LA record company founded by industry pioneer Ricardo Vinas as a joint venture with Sire/Warner Bros. Records. Thrive Records has released the soundtracks of such films as Pi, which won a Sundance Film Festival Award for Best Director, the Oscar-nominated film Memento, the acclaimed film Requiem for a Dream, and the Tom Cruise-produced film Shattered Glass.

New videos featuring unplugged versions of three of Lisa's latest songs, "Helpless," "C'mon Love," and "One of These Days," have been completed and have been added to the website. You just might see them pop up in a few other places, too!

Lisa's uplifting pop tune, "One of These Days," was forwarded by A&R representatives to Firebrand Productions, an entertainment production company that has produced over 20 movies and worked with stars such as Matt Damon, Tommy Lee Jones, Frances McDormand, Whoopie Goldberg, Eva Longoria and many more.
"You Deliver Me" selected by A&R Reps
Lisa's song, "You Deliver Me," was selected by representatives of TAXI, the world’s leading independent A&R company, to be forwarded to HK Records for possible use by a successful young artist.
New tunes nearing completion
Producer Stephen Joseph and Lisa are in the end stages of production on two new songs, a driving pop tune that will be heavily marketed to the industry and a ballad that will be marketed to the adult contemporary and tv/film markets. (Check back soon for fully produced tracks!)
